Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week 2026 — Behind the Runway
In April 2026, I travelled to Barcelona to experience Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week from behind the camera.
As a destination wedding photographer and filmmaker working across Europe, I am naturally drawn to the space where bridal fashion, editorial photography, film and contemporary luxury meet. BBFW felt like a particularly inspiring place to observe how the visual language of weddings is evolving — and what the modern bride may be looking for in 2027.
Held at Fira Barcelona from April 22 to 26, Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week brought together around 420 brands and 34 runway designers, creating an international meeting point for bridal fashion, couture, eveningwear and accessories.
Among the designers presenting during the 2026 edition was Peter Langner, whose show I had the opportunity to experience and capture through my own photography and film.
When bridal fashion becomes personal
One of the strongest impressions I took away from Barcelona was how personal bridal fashion can feel when it moves beyond a predefined idea of what a bride should look like.
For me, the most interesting part is not following a particular trend, but the way fashion can become a form of personal expression. Silhouette, movement, styling, fabric, accessories and even the choice of location can completely change the character of an image.
This is particularly relevant to destination weddings, where the setting itself becomes part of the visual story. A wedding in Lake Como, Tuscany, Paris or the South of France does not need to look like a traditional ballroom wedding. Fashion, architecture, landscape, photography and film can work together to create something much more personal.
This is where I find the connection between bridal fashion and editorial photography particularly inspiring.
Peter Langner: Milanese elegance meets architectural design
One of the highlights of my time at Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week was the Peter Langner show.
Founded in Rome in 1989, the Peter Langner brand is known for its architectural approach to bridal design, refined construction and timeless elegance. The gowns are handcrafted in the brand’s Milan atelier, combining couture craftsmanship with a distinctly contemporary sensibility.
What particularly caught my attention was the relationship between structure and movement. The silhouettes have presence without feeling excessive, while the construction creates shape and character.
From behind the camera, these are the details I naturally look for — the line of a silhouette, the movement of fabric, the relationship between the body and the garment, and the way light interacts with the construction.
I had the opportunity to capture the Peter Langner show through both photography and film, allowing me to experience the collection not only as a fashion story, but also through movement, atmosphere and sound.
A GLOBAL MEETING POINT FOR BRIDAL AND FASHION
Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week is much more than a bridal fashion event. It brings together an international community of designers, brands, buyers, media and creative professionals working across bridal fashion, couture, eveningwear and luxury.
The 2026 edition brought together around 420 exhibiting brands from 37 countries, alongside 34 designers presenting on the runway. Among the names associated with the edition were Peter Langner, Stéphane Rolland, Elie Saab, Zuhair Murad, Viktor & Rolf, Jenny Packham, Antonio Riva, Yolancris, Isabel Sanchís, Demetrios and Justin Alexander.
For me, this international perspective is one of the most interesting aspects of BBFW. Bridal fashion increasingly exists within the wider fashion industry, sharing the same visual language of couture, beauty, editorial photography, film and luxury campaigns.
WHAT BARCELONA BRIDAL FASHION WEEK MEANS FOR DESTINATION WEDDINGS
For me, the most interesting part of BBFW is not simply the fashion itself. It is understanding how the entire visual language of weddings can evolve.
The modern luxury wedding can become much more than a record of the day. Fashion, architecture, landscape, styling, photography and film can come together to create a coherent visual world.
This is particularly visible in destination weddings, where the environment is already an important part of the story.
A wedding in Italy, France or Spain can feel much closer to an editorial fashion story — while still remaining deeply personal.
As a photographer and filmmaker, this is the direction I find most inspiring.
From the runway to the wedding day
Being at Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week reminded me why I love working between fashion and weddings.
The two worlds are much closer than they may initially appear.
Both are about creating an atmosphere. Both rely on styling, movement, light and detail. And both are ultimately about creating images that remain long after the moment itself has passed.
For me, luxury destination wedding photography and filmmaking is exactly where these worlds meet.
The wedding day becomes more than a record of what happened.
It becomes a visual story.
A global meeting point for bridal and fashion

From bridal fashion to visual storytelling
My work sits between fashion photography, editorial image-making and cinematic storytelling. I am interested in creating imagery that feels considered and emotionally grounded — whether I am photographing a fashion story, a bridal collection or a destination wedding.
For me, a strong image is never only about the subject itself. The styling, movement, location, light, architecture and atmosphere all become part of the visual language.
This is particularly important when working with bridal and luxury brands, where the image needs to communicate more than the product itself. The dress, the movement, the location, the light and the person wearing it all become part of the visual story.
Alongside destination wedding photography and filmmaking, I work across fashion, editorial and commercial visual production, collaborating with models, designers, creative teams and brands across Europe.
